Views of Diez de Abril

The pictures below are from the Zapatista base community of Diez de Abril in Chiapas, Mexico. The Irish Mexico Group has had a peace camp there since December 1996. The faces of local adults who live in the community have been obscured in these photos due to the continued government repression and death squad assassinations occurring in Chiapas.

Suspension bridge in Chiapas Mexico

During the army raid in April 1998 a five year old boy fell off this bridge into the river as he was running from the army. He was never seen again
