Why do so many women find
themselves in a situation where abortion is the
only option?
|
|
Abortion is an issue which receives
extensive media coverage and yet no person other
than those who have experienced abortion firsthand
can truly understand the reality. The ANV invites
women and men with firsthand experience of abortion
to contribute to the current debate in a
confidential way and help the government and the
public understand and accept the reality of
Ireland's abortion problem.

This site has been
set up by the Alliance for a No Vote (ANV). We are
a pro-choice group and are campaigning for a No
Vote in the upcoming referendum.
We believe the
proposed Bill blatantly undervalues women by
putting their lives at risk and fails to recognise
the reality of Ireland's abortion problem.
|
ANV
invite women and men to voice their experiences and
opinions on this site. It is the voices of people
who have firsthand experience of abortion which
have been missing
from the debate and which most need to be heard.
|
This
site is totally confidential and you may submit
your comments without disclosing any personal
information, which would identify you. All comments
will be posted on
the "Your Voices" page and will help people
understand that every woman who has an abortion
takes the decision very seriously
and very often,
due to circumstances, abortion is the only option.
|
Because of the silence into which
women have been forced on this issue, it is easy
for the public at large to ignore the realities of
thousands of women.
This has to
change. Ireland must understand, accept and deal
with its abortion problem.

|
Please note that
this site has been set up specifically to give
those who have firsthand experience of abortion the
chance to contribute to the debate in a secure and
confidential manner. Any anti-abortion comments are
strongly discouraged, as they will not be published
on this web site.
