Seville (information from Globalise Resistance Ireland)
We assume the information below from Globalise Resistance is fairly accurate
GETTING THERE
The cheapest way to get there is to fly. We are encouraging groups
from different towns, colleges etc to make their own travel
arrangements and we will then supply details of accomodation and
meeting points when we get these from the organisers of the protests
in Seville itself
The recommended route is via Malaga. Malaga is near all the coastal resorts, at the bottom of Andalucia and Seville is only a short distance north, with train and bus links, of around 3 to 4 hours.
This is a sample price for travelling from Belfast. The price I got was for 6 people travelling - that means that these prices would be available to a group of us on the same flights. They are with Go airlines - one of the low-cost airlines. It would mean a flight from Belfast to London and then a separate flight to Malaga - same on the way back. Tuesday 18 June 11.35 from Belfast to London - £17.35 Tuesday 18 June 16.05 from London (Stanstead) to Malaga - £37.35 Tuesday 25 June 12.20 from Malaga to London - £85.00 Tuesday 25 June 18.25 from London to Belfast - £17.35 So total price, all up is £157.05. I assume that this is around 250 euros (though my conversion rate mightn't be exact.
Another flight which globalise resistance members have already booked on to is as follows: (easyjet.com) Your outbound flight: Wednesday 19 June, flight 561 departs London Luton at 0940, arrives Malaga at 1340 Your return flight: Sunday 23 June, flight 576 departs Malaga at 0130, arrives London Luton at 0320 Total amount: 150.00 GBP Your outbound flight: Wednesday 19 June, flight 352 departs Belfast at 0610, arrives London Luton at 0730 Your return flight: Sunday 23 June, flight 371 departs London Luton at 0920, arrives Belfast at 1035 Total amount: 35.00 GBP this costs approx 300euros but is a shorter trip than the one above. It may well be possible to get cheaper than this by looking around, and being flexible about when we leave and go back - there should be plenty of holiday charter flights to Malaga around this time. But this would be a good guide price.
ACCOMMODATION The Seville social forum is organising campsites to accommodate everyone who goes to the protests. the Irish group will be allocated their own space and details will be posted soon. there will of course be no charge for camping space but people will have to bring their own tents. We have assured that it Never rains in Seville in June! But if there are any individuals who would prefer hostel/hotel accommodation there are contact numbers on the seville social forum website: http://www.forosocialsevilla.org/
