In solidarity with the protests in Prague and around the world the following events are being held in Dublin and in Cork. The purpose of these events is to call for an end to the third world debt and the immediate suspension of the policies and practices that have caused widespread poverty, inequality, and suffering among the worldâs peoples and damage to the worldâs environment.
We can not stand idly by while those holding power continue to impoverish and oppress the majority of the world's peoples and ravage the earth's environment and resources. Decisions about the fate of the planet and its peoples must not be made behind closed doors by undemocratic and unaccountable institutions.

Similar events are taking place in Galway, Derry and Belfast. It is hoped that as many people, groups and organisations as possible will participate in these events in some way, thus demonstrating the diversity of opposition to the policies of the World Bank and IMF.
Please send this message to your friends and contacts. If protesting in the streets is not your thing, please try to do something, e.g. write a letter to the papers, or inform your friends and families to what is actually going on.
