What a surprise!

What better evidence is needed that Blair lied to us to justify his war than the recently reported fact that British Soldiers in Iraq did not have WMD protection. Let us not forget that this was the very "threat" used by Blair to justify joining the American-led invasion.

That suggests only one of two options. Either the state knew that Saddam posed no threat of WMD attack all along or Blair was happy to sacrifice the troops in combat. So Blair is either exposed as a liar or as an incompetent. While neither does him any favours, the first option looks like the right one.

And politicians wonder why people are cynical about politics?
