That's "workplace partnership"

In our last issue we reported on the 'AnuMan' partnership conference in Dublin. One of the speakers was a director of the transport company, Allgro.

A few days after the conference Allegro locked out its workers at the Sandyford depot because they refused to accept far-reaching changes in work practices.

How is it that semi-state companies act like autocracies shortly after partnership agreements have been concluded with the unions. Late last year CIE tried to push through cutbacks, even though a special partnership deal with the compny had recently been signed. Now, just after Aer Lingus struck a pay deal within a partnership agreement, they make moves to combine with an outside carrier partner and sell off TEAM without even consulting the unions!
